Android 5.1.1 Rolled Out Factory Images in AOSP for Nexus Player
Search engine giant Google has rolled out the Android 5.1.1 update, within few days of releasing the 5.1 update. This update is expected to contain the bug-fixes and Google has not officially detailed the new version but the release in AOSP on Tuesday marked its arrival.

Device manufacturers and custom ROM developers can go to Android source and start preparing the version of the devices they maintain. The tag for this release is 5.1.1_r1, and it carries the build number LMY47V.

As per Android Police, this Android 5.1.1 brings tweaks of select core OS functions, security fixes, and improvements to media decoding and handling.
Among the device-specific fixes, the camera time-out on Nexus 5 has been fixed and the updated Android version can better handle the recent Chromecast feature of supporting TV remote controls using HDMI-CEC.

Anyhow, Google is yet to officially announce the OTA roll-out of Android 5.1.1, while the factory images has been published based on the new Android version.

The Android TV device will most likely be the first device to get Android 5.1.1 OTA, followed by other Nexus and GPE devices.
