Innovations Abound In Apple's Soon To Be Released iOS 5
All you Apple aficionados and fan boys out there, great news awaits around the corner. Coming this fall is the new Operating System from Apple, the iOS 5 for the Apple Iphone, Ipad and Ipod Touch. The Apple iOS 5 will be a free software update for the Apple Iphone 3GS and Iphone 4, Apple Ipad 1 and 2, and the Apple Ipod Touch 3rd and 4th Generation models.

There are a lot of reasons to be excited about the new iOS 5. The most appealing feature of the new Apple iOS 5 operating system is its ability to sync with iCloud. All Apple users using devices which will run iOS 5 will have the capability to upload most of the content from their Apple devices to the online iCloud where all the data will be stored as well as downloaded to all other devices synched with it.

Another headline feature of the new iOS 5 operating system is that it will free all devices running on it from wired PC connectivity. Unlocking, activation and set up of an iOS device can now be done on the device itself. Synching between a PC and an iOS device for transfer of files etc. can also be done over a wifi connection using iOS 5. Software updates to the iOS 5 can be done over wifi or 3G while on the go. Also in iOS 5 the entire OS would not be downloaded while updating and only new tweaks and content would be downloaded and updated.

Another cool new Apple iOS 5 feature available is the iMessage. iMessage is a messaging service exclusive to all iOS users irrespective of whichever device they are using. iMessage allows for the exchange of text, photos, videos, contacts etc. over 3G or wifi between iOS users. iMessage will also push all messages from one iOS device to all other iOS devices of the same user using iCloud.

An awesome Apple iOS 5 feature is the addition of a camera button right on the home screen. Also when the camera app is opened the volume up button will act as a physical manual shutter release button. The camera features pinch to zoom and one finger touch image exposure control. Also new in-device image editing options have been added such as the ability to cut and rotate images, red eye reduction, enhance the image etc. Images can be uploaded automatically to iCloud if photo stream is enabled.

In the new iOS 5 all notifications have been grouped together under Notification Center. All notifications for emails, texts, updates, friend requests and more will be available in one place. Notifications will appear on the lock screen as well on top of any other screen helping the user stay on top of breaking news without interrupting his work.

The Safari web browser has been upgraded in the iOS 5. It comes with a Safari Reader which allows for ad free and clutter free article reading and browsing. Reading List has been added to the browser which will help in storing articles or pages for future reading. With iCloud the Reading List is updated on all synched iOS devices. Tabbed browsing till now seen mostly in PCs and Macs will be available on the iPad.

Other awesome new features included in iOS 5 include Twitter integration in multiple apps and ability to upload images to twitter directly, an exclusive Newsstand where all news and magazine subscriptions will automatically appear, location sensitive reminder lists which remind users to do things when they go to particular locations, multitasking gestures for iPad and an improved game center, mail, calender and accessibility options among others.

The new Apple iOS 5 is already the talk of town everywhere and with so many innovations and new features, rightfully so. The eager waiting for the fall release has already started and will heat up in the days to come.
