Apple launched iPhone 5C back in November, 2013 in India at a hefty price of Rs. 41,990. Alongside the so called cheaper handset, Apple also released the premium iPhone 5S with fingerprint sensor and metal body. Surprisingly the iPhona 5c was not as hit as the premium model.

Apple introduced the iPhone 5C(8GB) in the middle of a product cycle last month. The low-cost model was bit of a surprise when the company first launched it in the U.K, Australia, China and other select countries.

Analysts believe that the timing of this product was not appropriate. In many key European countries, the Apple iPhone 5C 16GB retails for less than €489 (about Rs.40,857) in comparison to a €499 ( about Rs. 41,692) 8GB iPhone 5C. A lower priced iPhone 5C won't make a difference to users in the developed market.

Thus the company reduced the price of the iPhone 5C 16GB to Rs. 36,899. Still it was not taking the sales to the anticipated height. Soon Apple started offering an exchange offer on the handset. Gradually, the smartphone has started catching up the pace in the market. It should be noted that Apple has already decided to withdraw the iPhone 4 from the Indian market as well.

Now to boost the reach of the iPhone's reach deeper in the Indian market the company is planning to re-launch the iPhone 5c with 8GB native storage unit at the price range of Rs. 30,000. Moreover, the phone will also be offered on exchange scheme. But it has not started as of now.
