In the US market Apple's new iPhones are being received by the market in a glorifying manner and the recently the Cupertino giant has also confirmed that it received a record breaking 4 million pre-orders on the very first day itself.
However, thus far, in India the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were said to land on e-commerce sector in mid-October. Good news for Apple fans in India comes as a surprise here as the smaller iPhone 6 is already up for pre-orders via online retailer UniverCell. The site also reveals the price tag of Rs. 66,000. Interestingly, users can also buy a one year theft and damage insurance for the phone worth Rs. 1,980 from the same site.
The new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are yet to hit the other markets. In the recent press note, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK on September 19.
Withal, 20 additional countries will start selling the phones on September 26 including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey and United Arab Emirates. Apple said at its iPhone 6 and Watch launch event that it hopes to hit over 150 countries before the end of 2014.
As far as the specs are concerned, the iPhone 6 comes with a 4.7-inch display. It is powered by a new Apple A8 chip based on 20-nanometer process, has 2 Billion transistors, making it 50 times faster than the original iPhone and better GPU that is 84 times faster than the original iPhone.
It has an 8MP iSight camera with 1.5 micron pixels, f/2.2 aperture, true-tone flash and a new sensor. It also has optical image stabilization (OIS) that is absent in the iPhone 6. It also has a new 1.2-megapixel FaceTime HD camera on the front with 720p HD video recording, f/2.2 aperture and a new BSI sensor.
It runs on iOS 8. It has support for 150 Mbps LTE, 20 LTE bands that works with 200 carriers, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and even has a new Wi-Fi calling feature. It has built-in NFC feature that combines with the Touch ID on the home button for Apple Pay that would let you pay or checkout with one tap from supported retailers and partners.
