Asus PadFone Coming to India Next Week: Top 5 Competitors to Rival the Hybrid Device
At the Consumer Electronics Show held in January, Asus the Taiwanese tech giant unveiled the PadFone and Transformer Pad TF300T. The PadFone was released in many countries across the world and now, it is coming to India.
According to a recent Fonearena report, the Asus PadFone will be released in India in the coming week alongside the Transformer Pad TF300T.
Flavored with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, the PadFone houses a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED capacitive multi-touch display with 960 x 540 pixel resolution. The smartphone and tablet hybrid is equipped with a 1.5 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 8260A processor, 1GB RAM, 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera, micro SD card slot for expandable memory support, 1,520 mAh Li-ion battery.
Further, the PadFone comes in three configurations – 16GB, 32GB and 64GB respectively. The device is packed with connectivity features such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G and Bluetooth.
The unique feature of the PadFone is that it comes with a tablet dock, which converts the 4 inch smartphone into a 10.1 inch tablet and a keyboard dock, which will double it as a netbook.
Coming to the Transformer Pad TF300T, the tablet sports a 10.1 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, quad-core 1.4GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, 16GB internal memory, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory, 1GB RAM, 8MP rear camera and 1.2MP front facing camera.
Moreover, the tablet runs on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OS, the latest iteration of the Google's mobile platform.
However, there is no official word regarding the price of the devices. But, analysts assume that the devices could be priced high compared to the other markets across the globe.
