BlackBerry Passport Review: Battery Life and Verdict
BlackBerry has its hopes high with the improved 3,450mAh battery unit inside. It says that the battery will provide up to 30 hours of mixed use for a "very active user". But this is all down to the new BB 10.3 OS that promises significant improvement, as far as power consumption is concerned.
What we did however miss was a dedicated battery saver mode that's so prominent in most of the handsets. On constant usage, we actually managed to churn out an impressive 3 days of backup. But we are sure that a battery saver mode won't really be missed since it's anyway such a power house.
To be perfectly honest, the Passport isn't meant for everybody. In fact, only the most hard core BlackBerry fans will indeed have a look at it. The battery life is fantastic on the Passport, for instance. And so is the usability factor of the handset.
Then again, using the Passport one-handed is practically impossible for longer periods, unless it's only the scrolling thing you are up to. Moreover, the placement of the buttons doesn't make much sense, either.
But while you may find this impossible to believe, but this is indeed BlackBerry's best smartphone to date. It offers big on processing power, storage and a software that even though needs getting used to, is one of the easiest to go by.
