The World famous Blackberry series phones is owned and operated by Research in Motion, the parent company. The company is more popular as RIM all over the world. They are the pioneers in the Smartphone industry and has produced more Smartphones than any other manufacturer to date. The company owns around 23% of the global share in the Smartphone category and hopes to increase this further in the coming years.
The company sees Nokia, HTC and Motorola as its major competitors. They have a series of handsets waiting to be released. But the company refused to reveal any info about these models.
However RIM accidently posted details about 3 of its upcoming models in its blog post. The phones that will be released soon are BlackBerry Curve 9360, 9810 (Torch 2) and BlackBerry 9850 (Torch Monaco).
The company inadvertently posted news about these phones in its blog post while providing details about the Blackberry OS 7. The company was explaining in its post about the screen resolution of the Blackberry OS 7 and also about the new simulators for platform developers.
Interestingly RIM had a month earlier announced that the Blackberry Bold 9900 and 9930 handsets would feature touch screens and also run on Blackberry OS 7 at the Blackberry World 2011.
Now let us take a look into the specs that were revealed about the accidentally leaked phones.
The BlackBerry Curve 9630 that was Codenamed Apollo will feature a 2.5 inch display screen that would offer a resolution of 480 x 360 pixels. It will be coupled to a 800 MHz Tavor MG-1 processor. The phone will have 512 MB of RAM and also 512 MB of eMMC storage memory. This Blackberry Curve phone will have dimensions of 11mm thickness and will be extremely lightweight. The Blackberry Curve phone will pack in features such as Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 and Near Field Communication chip.
The next inline was the BlackBerry Torch 2 9810. It will be a faster version of the current BlackBerry Torch handset with the phone featuring a significantly more powerful 1.2 GHz processor coupled to 768 MB of RAM. The BlackBerry Torch 2 9810 phone will have a large 3.2 inch display and will have all the features as the leaked Curve 9630 that includes Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and a NFC chip. It will also have 8 GB of internal memory. The camera is a 8 Mega Pixel one.
But the information about the third model i.e. the new BlackBerry Torch 9850 was scarce and the only spec that could be gathered is that BlackBerry 9850 will feature a 3.7 inch touch screen based display.
The revealed phones might seem to be of a lot of interest to Smartphone buffs who would love to get one of them but the exact release date of any of the 3 phones is yet to be known.
