Recently, Celkon launched its RahmanIshq AR45 smartphone at Rs. 7,999 targeted at music lovers in India. Now, the Hyderabad based Indian smartphone manufacturer which is popular for its Campus series of handsets, has again launched another device in the same series. The newly launched handset is called Campus A15 and comes with an entry level specs. However, this handset comes at a very affordable price of Rs. 3,999 and is one of the cheapest offerings from the company.
The latest budget friendly Campus A15 handset is deprived of 3G support and is only meant to work with 2G connectivity. And going by the specs, the handset comes packed with a 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen display offering a HVGA resolution of 480 x 320 pixels.
The handset is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor coupled with 256 MB RAM. It runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS which is quite impressive because most of the devices which come at this price point usually runs on older version like Ice Cream Sandwich or Gingerbread.
In terms of connectivity, Celkon Campus A15 include connectivity features like 2G (EDGE), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth with A2DP and GPS. As said earlier the handset lacks 3G support. However, like most of the domestic handsets, A15 also comes with a Dual SIM support (GSM + GSM) with Dual Standby.
The affordable device houses 512 internal storage capacity (165 MB user memory) but worry not, the storage can be expanded up to 32GB using micro SD card.
The Celkon Campus A15, also lacks front facing camera but features a 3.2MP rear camera and the device is powered by a 1400 mAh battery.
To talk about features, the handset comes pre-loaded with interactive games and Zapya sharing app that lets you shake to trasfer data.
Celkon has already launched Campus A10 recently which comes with a 3G support. However, the fresh Campus A15 comes in White color casing at Rs. 3,999 as said earlier. The phone would be available in all leading stores across India from today.
Since Celkon Campus A15 lacks 3G support, devices like Micromax Smarty 3.0 A30, Spice Stellar Xtacy Mi-352, Videocon A22 and Lava Iris 356 might give tough time to it because all these handsets come with 3G support. However, when it comes to its OS, the Celkon Campus A15 comes with the latest update of Android. If the lack of 3G support is overlooked, the handset can still compete against devices like, Micromax Bolt A35, Nokia Asha 501, Karbonn A6 and many more.
