Few months ago, it was rather difficult to get a giant screen handset under Rs. 8,000 display. Now the scenario has completely changed with more and more tech vendors are coming with better handset with loaded features. Gizbot has come up with two such handsets-- Celkon Signature One A107 and the Spice Smart Flo Pace2 Mi 502. These above mentioned devices have a 5-inch display, dual-core processor, and Android 4.0 ICS. Let's pit them against each other. Stay tuned to GizBot.
Celkon Signature One A107 vs. Spice Smart Flo Pace 2
Celkon is a new kid on the block. You probably never heard about this brand before. The unknown tech vendor recently announced A107, a phablet device with giant 5-inch display. Talking about the display, the Celkon A107 packs a 5-inch WVGA display with resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. On the other hand, if you go for Spice Smart Flo Pace 2 then also expect the same 5-inch display with resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Either way, one can choose any of the mentioned devices, if you go with said display size.
The Celkon A107 is being powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Luck is not at your side because Ice Cream Sandwich is a bit old in the tech arena today. GizBot heard that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is coming pretty soon, and these vendors are still stuck up with older version of Android. Same can be said for Spice Smart Flo Pace 2 , which comes with Android 4.0 ICS.
Processor and RAM
The handset comes with 1GHz dual-core processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. Being powered by dual core processor that means you can easily run high end games on this device. While GizBot is yet to test the actual handset still on paper -the dual core processor rocks. The Spice Smart Flow Pace 2 is not at all different from Celkon A107 in terms of processing power. It also comes with 1GHz dual-core processor along with 512MB of RAM. It would be great to see at least 1GB of RAM built into the device. And it's coming very soon.
The Celkon A107 packs a standard 8-mega pixel rear facing camera with dual LED Flash along with VGA quality front facing camera. While the Spice Smart Flow Pace 2 gets a 5-mega pixel rear facing camera and VGA quality camera on the front. This is much can be expected from budget centred devices. These days most tech vendors go for 8MP camera sensor even the high end ones. It is to be seen how Celkon A107 being equipped with 8-mega pixel camera performs against Karbonn S5 Titanium and Intex Aqua Wonder.
In terms of storage, the Celkon A107 comes with has provided 512MB of ROM with an option to expand memory via microSD cards. The story is same on the other side too. The Spice Smart Flow Pace 2 packs 512MB of RAM , which further expanded up to 32GB via microSD cards.
Both handsets does come with 2G ,EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB 2.0 , but 3G connectivity is still missing. These manufacturers should have made their respective handsets 3G compatible. The world is moving towards 4G LTE, and our Indian manufacturers are still supports 2G open heartedly. It is amazing to see respective manufacturers managed to squeeze 2100mAh battery in their handsets.
Internal specifications matter a lot during the time of purchase. Consumers mostly attracted towards sticker price. Well, you will surprised to know that both devices have been priced at Rs.6, 999. Choice is yours ...to go with Celkon A107 or Spice Smart Flow Pace 2.
