CES 2015: Sony Xperia Z Series to get Android 5.0 updates Next Month
Here comes the news of Sony Xperia Z series owners. During the CES 2015 press meet, the Japan-based Company Sony has announced its next Android Lollipop 5.0 update for Xperia Z series globally, starting from next month. Earlier, Sony has tweeted that, it will roll-out Lollipop update for Xperia Z3 and Z2 devices earlier during 2015. However, Sony Z Ultra Google Play edition has already got the update, which is a known fact.
The Z series devices which will get the Lollipop 5.0 update includes Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

The new update Android Lollipop 5.0 contains Google's new Material Design aesthetic and new notification options. However, there are lots of bug reported from the users, after updating to Lollipop 5.0 includes Wi-Fi issues, battery issues, lagging and crashing, video playback issues. However, Google has rolled-out the update Lollipop 5.0.1 to fix minor issues.

According to AndroidPIT, the Lollipop 5.1 update will be released at the end of February 2015, which can cover the issues and bugs from Lollipop 5.0. The update is said to address the issues that some users are experiencing with 5.0, like

General improvements in system stability
Improved RAM management
Fixes for sudden app closures
Improved battery management
Excessive consumption of network devices when used Wi-Fi fixed
Issues with wireless connections fixed
Problems with Okay Google function solved
