This is the first time the company has openly talked about its plans to launch the Intel-powered Android smartphones into Indian market, although Asus has not publicly released any information in respect to pricing.
As mentioned previously, Asus first launched the ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6 at this year's CES 2014. The Intel-powered ZenFone series, which includes handsets ranging from 4-inch to 6-inch screen sizes, comes at affordable price range. The low-end Android phones are targeted at Asian markets.
The 4-inch model features a dual-core 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2520 processor and 1GB of RAM. It also features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 0.3-megapoixel front-facing shooter.
The 5-inch model has a 720p HD display and incorporates a 2GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 processor, backed by 1GB of RAM. There's an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front facing shooter.
The high-end ZenFone 6 incorporates similar processor to that of the 5-inch model, but the camera has been revamped to 13-megapixel (rear-facing) and a 2-megapixel (front-facing).
The ZenFone series runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Asus's native User interface (ZenUI) layer on top of it.
