Exclusive: Gionee GPad 4 and Gionee M2 Leak in Detail, Coming to India in January 2014

Gionee is betting big to take on the smartphone market in India, which is currently dominated by Samsung, Nokia, Micromax and more. The year 2013, came out to be good for the China based mobile manufacturer and now the company has planned some big launches for 2014.

 

GizBot got hold off some leaked pictures of the upcoming Gionee smartphones, which are scheduled for launch in January 2014.

Already the company has launched Gionee Elife E7 in India officially. While, the consumers are waiting for its market release, Gionee is all set to launch two new smartphones - GPad 4 and Gionee M2 in the market this month.

The tech media world has already heard about the Gionee GPad 4 many times before, but GizBot has got the confirmed price tag for the phablet, which is Rs 18,999. Specswise, the handset flaunts a 5.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display based on OGS technology, 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589T processor with PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU, Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture and 1080p video recording, 5MP front-facing camera, 7.95mm thickness, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal memory and 3200 mAh battery.

On the other end, we have also received the first images of Gionee M2, which will be launched by the company as a direct rival to Lenovo P780 - the 4,000 mAh battery phone.

Sources close to the matter have revealed that the Gionee M2 will be out in the market in January 2014 and would retail at a price of Rs 10,999. In terms of specifications, the Android Jelly Bean phone will flaunt a 5 inch display, will be much slimmer and come powered by 1.3-GHz Quad core processor along with 1GB RAM and 4,300 mAh battery. The phone will also come with the ability to function as a power bank. All you will need is to connect the phone using USB and OTG cable and transfer the battery power to other smartphones if required.

While, the company has already launched four feature phones and nine smartphones in the market in 2013 including flagships like Gionee Elife E6, E7 and GPad 3, we have got to know from anonymous sources that Gionee will launch around "20 devices by the end of 2014." The source has confirmed that out of all the devices lined up for launch, four of them will be flagships.

E Series

Already Gionee has launched three ace phones under the series including Gione Elife E7, E7 mini and E6. Now the company plans to launch two more devices codenamed '162,' '323' as per the source. The new devices will hit the market by first quarter of 2014.

A New Flagship

Yes, it was also informed that Gionee is planning to launch a new currently 'unnamed' series by March 2014, which will be positioned as a stylish phone and it could range between Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000.

Moreover, two more handsets are lined up for release, which is Gionee V5. It will launch in India at a price of around Rs 13,000 and also Gionee P4 which will come powered by 1.47 Ghz quad core CPU.
