Exclusive: Intex Aqua Style Successor to Launch on Aug 16, Firefox-OS Smartphone Also Coming in Aug
India-based mobile maker Intex, which has been targeting to beat the sales of Micromax and Karbonn in India is finally coming up with its biggest bets planned for the year 2014.
Recently the company launched its budget Android-powered smartphone under Aqua series known as Intex Aqua style and further Intex plans to launch at least four (4) more smartphones in India this month.
Rather, GizBot got to know in an exclusive interview with Sanjay Kalirona, General Manager, Intex Technologies that the company is planning to launch around 7-8 models in India by Diwali 2014.

Intex Firefox-OS based Smartphone to Launch in August
Sanjay Kalirona, General Manager told that Intex is planning to launch a Firefox operating system handset in India by the end of this month. The higher official also revealed that the handset will be released in the market at a price of below Rs. 2,000.
He confirmed that the upcoming handset will sport a 3.5-inch screen, dual camera and highly competitive features to rivals against Android budget market.

If going by the reports, the upcoming Mozila platform based smartphone is dubbed as Intex Cloud FX and will also feature basic specifications including 1GHz processor, 2MP camera, Bluetooth among others. The senior official also informed us in a video interaction that the Firefox-OS based smartphone will be launched sometime around August 20th, next week.
Intex Aqua Style Successor to Launch on Aug 16
At the same time, Sanjay Kalirona also disclosed that the successor of the Aqua Style would be launched in the country around August 16th this week. While, he refused to share any major details on the name and specs of the handset however he did inform that Aqua Style successor will come with a bigger display (probably 5-inch), Android KitKat and more augmented features.
The senior official also said, that Intex will launch 2-3 models in the same Intex Aqua style series this month itself. In fact the company plans to launch 7-8 smartphones by Diwali 2014 to ramp up the sales figures in the festival season.
Android L Expansion
When asked about the Android One program, which the company has already registered for, Sanjay Kalirona told us that Intex has already registered for the program and is in talks with Google, in the second phase of the partnership to adopt the newly announced Google project.
E-commerce Partnership
According to Keshav Bansal, Director Marketing, Intex - the company is also in a talk with a number of e-commerce sites in India for upcoming phone launches. While, Intex is planning to invest around 40 crore in the South region, the company is planning to come up with 3-4 models specifically for this region with renowned celebrities to endorse the brand.
Intex Planning 200% growth in Indian market
To conquer a strong foothold in the budget handset market category, Intex aims to sell 20 million units by the ennd of FY 14-15. Out of which 4 million should be smartphones and rest 16 millions should be feature phones. The mobile maker plans to focus in below Rs 10,000 market segment and release around 15 handset between the range of Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000. Overall, Intex is thriving on to achieve a revenue target of Rs 2,700 crores.
