If you think a feature phone is nonexistent, then you're better off dead. Apparently Nokia has taken the responsibility to revamp feature phone market with the Asha range of handsets in India. Earlier this year Nokia launched the Asha 501 in India, which conquered the trend and recently the Finnish mobile maker unveiled Asha 500, Asha 502 and Asha 503 continuing the lineage of the colorful range.
Well, the latest update on the new range is that they are coming to India in mid-December and GizBot has just received confirmed information from the trust-worthy source close to the matter that the Asha 500, Asha 502 and Asha 503 are all set for release in the market by third week of December 2013. Tentative dates are somewhere between December 12 to December 15, Nokia could release the phones anytime in the market between the said time frame.
At the same time, leading local online retailers including Saholic and Infibeam have started listing all three handsets. In fact, the Asha 500 is currenyt priced at Rs. 9,524 on Infibeam under 'coming soon' tag.
Looking going by the specs, the price of Asha 500 looks quite extravagant, as the feature phone sports a 2.8-inch QVGA display having a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, Nokia Asha software platform with Swipe UI, 2MP rear-facing camera, Nokia Fastlane, 2G, Dual SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM Radio , and comes pre-loaded with WhatsApp.
Nokia Asha 503 and Asha 502 - Highlighted specifications
Nokia Asha 503 and Asha 502 are the newest Dual SIM handset to be launched in the India later this month. Both the Asha 503 and Asha 502 features transparent outer layer on the rear-back. The Asha 503 comes in single as well as dual-SIM and also incorporates 3G SIM slot. On the other hand, the Asha 502 features a dual-SIM connectivity and 2G EDGE data support.
The Asha 503 has a 3-inch QVGA display protected by Gorilla Glass 2. Moreover, the makers have added a 1,200mAh battery fitted inside. There's a 5MP rear-facing camera and a VGA quality-camera on the front.
The Asha 502 features more or less similar features compared to the Asha 503. The newest Nokia Asha range also comes pre-loaded with well-known messenger apps like Line and WhatsApp.
