Creo Mark 1: 5 things that we love and 5 we wish it featured
The makers of Teewe, CREO, recently took the wraps off their first ever smartphone, dubbed as Mark 1. The phone has been launched as the company's flagship model and is promoted as a smartphone that turns new every month, for its features company's own OS UI that would get updated on monthly basis.
The USP of the phone is its FUEL UI based on the Android Lollipop. The UI brings features like Sense search bar that can be launch by double tapping the home key, Retriever that is a phone security mechanism, Echo that is a voice inbox for calls which you can't take, and more.
The Bangalore-based company loaded the phone with good specifications and priced it for Rs 19,990. So far everything seems good about the phone but there also are some flaws.
Today we bring to you a list of 5 things we absolutely love about the Creo Mark 1 smartphone, and 5 others that we miss on it:
Starting with the five things we absolutely love about the phone:
The goal of CREO is to release regular monthly updates to its Android users to keep the device more like a new device every month. It promises to roll out the next update on May 13, and is planning to continue to release a new update on the 13th of every month. This will keep the mobile new and updated as the company will be delivering a breakthrough feature every month.
2.
The Mark 1 features a 5.2-inch Quad HD display with 1440x2560 pixels resolution. The 2K display is beautiful, looks crisp and reproduces colors well. It offers great viewing angles and doesn't seem very reflective.
3.
The Mark 1 should be a smooth performer considering that it is powered by a MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795) SoC along with PowerVR G6200 GPU under the hood. Additionally, it has 3GB RAM paired with 32GB ROM, with microSD card slot for expanding the storage.
4.
The 21MP rear sony Exmor IMX230 camera on the phone is capable of recording slow motion video at 120fps in full HD, which is a rear feature for a smartphone of this segment. This is one feature we quite like about the Mark 1.
5.
You can further personalize the phone by getting a special message or your name engraved on it, from the company's official website. The company is offering this service for free for the first 2,000 customers, as well as a free Mobile Cover with the phone.
5 things we wish we could change about it
For the camera enthusiasts, the Mark 1 brings a 21MP rear camera paired with flash and an 8MP front-facing camera. We tested the phone at the launch of the event, and don't find it impressive enough to match the capability of a 21MP or an 8MP snapper.
2.
The phone comes with a blend of metal and glass, which looks nice but is a major fingerprint magnet. Is it due to this that you will find it dirty just after using the phone for 5 minutes, and will feel like cleaning it every few minutes.
3.
Considering that most smartphones in the mid-range segment feature fingerprint scanner for enhanced security of the phone, we wish this phone could have feature a similar fingerprint technology.
9.
We so wish a phone with such interesting features to come with water resistant coating. However, most of the companies chose to ignore this feature. Sadly, Creo Mark 1 also gave it a miss!
5.
Considering that the phone is skinned with the company's own UI with features that may keep running in the background, and has a quad-core display that eats more energy, we feel that this phone would have been a better choice with a removable battery option.
