Lenovo Vibe X3 launched with 3GB RAM, 21MP snapper and more: Key specifications and Features

After much rumors, conjectures and teasers, Lenovo finally took the wraps off the Vibe X3 which is its latest and greatest phone for the year. This is the company's third generation model addition in its popular flagship-level Vibe X series. The phone was expected to be unveiled at MWC in the beginning of the year, but Lenovo missed the date to launch it only in November.

The Lenovo Vibe X3 phone has been launched in three variants - a premium model, a slightly toned down version and a lower end variant, priced according to their storage capacities and hardware specifications.

Lenovo has been teasing the Vibe X3 for a while now. In its teasers, the company hinted better hardware specs and advanced audio capabilities in the phone.

Starting with the main specs, all the three variants of the Vibe X3 flaunt a metallic design with 5.5-inch Full HD (1080p) displays with Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Two of the variants are powered by Snapdragon 808 chipset with 3GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage with microSD cards support for expanding the storage. The lower end version has an octa-core MediaTek processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory storage, and a microSD slot.

In the camera department, the higher end models of Vibe X3 feature 21MP Sony rear shooters with phase-detection AF, dual LED, dual-tone flash, and 8MP front-facing snapper for selfie enthusiasts. The lower end version sports a 13MP primary camera paired with a 5MP front-facing camera.

Another difference lies in the battery capacities, as the higher end versions have 3600mAh battery while the lower end houses a 3400mAh juicer. The difference in battery capacities results in variation in sizes as well. The versions with bigger battery measure in at 154 x 76.5 x 9.3 mm, while the third model measures 153 x 75.9 x 8.7mm.

Speaking of the speakers, Lenovo Vibe X3 boasts front-facing stereo speakers with Hi-fi 3.0, ESS Sabre ES9018K2M or Wolfson8281 DAC, separate speaker amplifiers, three noise-canceling mics and more, to offer superior audio quality.

As expected, the phone also features a fingerprint scanner, placed at the back.

As far as the price and availability are concerned, the Lenovo Vibe X3 is available on pre-order and will be released on November 25 in China. The 2GB/ 16 GB variant is priced for CNY 1,899 (approximately 19,660), the 3GB/ 32GB model costs $400 (approximately Rs 25,870), and the most premium model with 3GB/ 64GB has been launched for $470 (approximately Rs 31,044).

The company is expected to launch these phones in India sooner than later, though there is no concrete information about their India launch as of now.
