6 Of These Xiaomi Smartphones Are Definitely Coming to India in 2016!
Xiaomi is back on track as far as their Indian strategy is concerned, with the blockbuster launch of the Redmi Note 3, starting at just Rs. 9,999 for the lower-end variant. Hugo Barra, VP-Global, announced at the event that their flagship smartphone, Mi 5, would soon be making way into India, probably around next month.

While we wait for Xiaomi to launch their smartphones in India, here is a list of the upcoming smartphones and tablets that are slated to come to Indian shores in 2016.
Xiaomi Mi 5
Starting off with the beast, Xiaomi has confirmed that the flagship smartphone would be arriving in India as soon as April 2016, shaking off all rumors of a delayed launch. Priced at around CNY 1999 or around 21,000 Indian rupees, the Xiaomi Mi 5, if launched in India at the sub-25,000 rupee level, will most probably induce panic in the camps of Samsung and other major OEMs. Offering a Snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM and other such top-end specifications, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is a performance monster by all aspects.
Xiaomi Mi 4S
Launched as a dark horse, alongside the Xiaomi Mi 5 - in China - the Xiaomi Mi 4S is definitely a force to reckon with when it comes to mid-range smartphones. Taking forward last year's Mi 4 series, the Mi 4S has specifications like a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, a 13MP camera, a 5-inch Full HD display and a decent 3,260 mAh battery. Priced at around $260 or Rs. 18,000, we can expect it to be priced at less than Rs. 20,000 in India. This will help Xiaomi take on competition like Nexus 5X, OnePlus X and Moto X Play.
Xiaomi Redmi 3
The latest budget entrant from Xiaomi, Redmi 3, was recently launched in China at a price of CNY 699 or around Rs. 7,000. Offerings specifications like Snapdragon 616, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and a huge 4,100 mAh battery. With such stellar features and a great price, Indian audiences are eagerly waiting for this nifty device. If the company can price the Redmi 3 smartphone at around the same Rs. 7,000 in India, it can take on competition like the Coolpad Note 3 Lite as well as the Micromax Canvas Nitro.
Xiaomi Mi Note
Launched by Xiaomi back in January 2015, the Mi Note was the company's low-end flagship smartphone for 2015, and a great one at that. Boasting specs like a Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16/64GB internal storage and a 13MP camera with OIS, the Mi Note is currently priced at CNY 1499 in China and can be expected to launch in India at around Rs. 15,000, although the announcement is highly unlikely.
Xiaomi Mi Note Pro
The bigger brother of the Mi Note is the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. With high-end specifications like a Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage and a 13MP camera with OIS, the Mi Note Pro was Xiaomi's top-end flagship smartphone for 2015. While it has been a long time since the phone has gone on sale in China, the India launch has not seen the light of day yet and the future also seems uncertain.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 2
An honorable mention goes to Xiaomi's latest tablet, the Mi Pad 2. Termed as one of the best non-iOS tablets in the world, the Mi Pad 2 has two variants - one running on MIUI (Android) and the other one on Windows 10. The tablet also has specifications like an Intel Atom X5 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16/64GB of internal storage and the Type-c reversible connector port. While the Mi Pad first-gen was launched in India last year, the Mi Pad 2 release has been delayed due to very minimal demand for Windows 10-based tablets here.
