Xiaomi Mi Max is coming to take on the mighty Le Max2!
Xiaomi Mi 5 has already made wonders ever since it was launched at the MWC in Barcelona this year. Some critics even praise the smartphone for being the first from Xiaomi in terms of original design. This however, isn't quite true as the Xiaomi Mi5 takes design inspirations from the year old Mi Note.

Fresh reports and leaks suggest that Xiaomi is all set to launch a new premium phablet on May 10, 2016. All renders of the Xiaomi Mi Max have already been leaked and here are the specifications and features that we are expecting on the Mi Max.
Xiaomi Mi Max rumors #1
As per the renders, the Xiaomi Mi Max will be the largest device from the Chinese smartphone OEM till date. The front panel of the phablet has also been leaked and it reveals a massive 6.4-inch display. While the details of the panel aren't known so far, expect Xiaomi to include a QHD (2560x1440p) display unit, with 3D Touch not exactly off the cards.

Xiaomi Mi Max rumors #2
This will not be Xiaomi's first smartphone with the Snapdragon 820. Debuting with the Mi 5 recently, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 is the processor that will most probably be powering the new Xiaomi Mi Max. A quad-core 64-bit chipset, the Snapdragon 820 is succeeding the infamous flagship Snapdragon 810 processor of 2015. Clocked at 1.8 GHz, the processor will be accompanied by the Adreno 530 GPU for improved graphic performance.

The Xiaomi Mi Max will have the latest MIUI 7 software running on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. This means that Xiaomi is bringing its latest software to its upcoming phablet. MIUI 7 claims to improve response time by 30% along with 10% more battery life. This, besides Marshmallow's new additions, will help the Xiaomi Mi Max reach the top of the performance table.

Earlier, Xiaomi had fitted the Sony IMX298 sensor onto their flagship smartphone, the Mi 5. The new camera will be coming to the Mi Max, which has a 16MP sensor and features like Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), dual-tone LED flash, 4-axis OIS as well as 4K video recording. The camera is capable of recording slo-mo video upto 120 FPS. The front camera also has an upgraded 4MP sensor with a pixel size of 2um.

With the world moving towards this new technology for charging and data syncing, it was but natural for Xiaomi to incorporate the USB Type-C port on their flagship smartphone, the Mi 5. It will be coming to the Mi Max as well. With a reversible connector and fast charging support, the port will help offer better battery performance during regular daily usage.

As we discussed in previous slides, the Xiaomi Mi Max is expected to launch on May 10 in China. The India launch will follow suit in the following months. In terms of pricing, the Mi Max can be priced anywhere around the Rs. 25,000 price mark. It will give direct competition to the Nexus 6P and Le Max2.
