First Gen Moto X Gets a Price Cut in India: Now Available For Rs 17,999

Motorola has slashed the price of its first-generation Moto X in India by Rs. 6,000. The Android-powered phone, which was earlier priced for Rs. 23,999, is now available for Rs. 17,999 on Flipkart.

The original Moto X was first introduced in the U.S in August last year. Motorola launched the Moto X in India in the beginning of 2014.

 

The first-generation Moto X features a 4.7-inch HD screen. It is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of non-expandable storage. There's a 10MP rear-facing camera, and a 2MP front-facing shooter for video calls. The phone runs Android 4.4 out-of-the box.

Motorola recently launched the second-generation Moto X in India at a price of Rs. 31,990. The high-end phone seemed to have getting positive word of mouth, especially, from blogger community. The Moto X (Gen 2) comes with a 5.2-inch FHD screen, quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and a 13MP rear-facing camera.

Despite the arrival of the Moto X (Gen 2), the first-generation Moto X still hold great value at a price of Rs. 17,999.

Moto X (first and second Gen) To Get Android Lollipop Update

With Google's Android 5.0 Lollipop expected to be rolled out next month, Motorola has announced that both first and second-generation Moto G will get the latest Android update in the coming days.

Motorola Nexus 6 Coming Soon to India

Motorola on Wednesday launched the much-awaited Nexus 6. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rival, which houses a 5.96-inch QHD screen and quad-core Snapdragon 805 CPU, will be launched in India later this year. The high-end phone might get priced upwards of Rs. 45,000.

Off lately Motorola's market share in India has drastically improved, thanks to the success of the Moto G and Moto E. According to IDC, Motorola market share is 5.3 % for the Q2 2014. Notably, Motorola now ranks among the top 5 smartphone vendors in the country.
