Following Apple's iPhone exchange offer a month ago, Samsung also started giving its Galaxy Note 2 on the similar scheme. Now consumers can trade-in their old smartphone and avail themselves a discount of Rs. 10,000 on Galaxy Note 2 which was initially priced at Rs. 37,500.
Apple's EMI schemes, Blackberry's students discount and Samsung's cashback offers back in April on devices like Galaxy Note 800 tablet, Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Grand and Galaxy camera sounds not so much like this latest Samsung's marketing scheme with up to Rs. 10,000 cash back. This could possibly be a direct challenge to Apple's offer, wherein iPhone 4 buyers in India are getting Rs 7,000 in exchange for their old smartphones.
However, this latest Samsung offer is only valid for select smartphone trade-ins, so one will have to visit their nearest retailer offering Samsung Smart Upgrade, to see if they are eligible. The best thing about this offer is that one can also opt to pay monthly installments of Rs 4,584 for six months without any down payment. The offer is valid till the stocks last or perhaps June 30.
Samsung is not only giving offer on Galaxy Note 2, but it has also brought down the price of original Galaxy Note N7000 in the Indian market. The phone is now listed on Flipkart at just Rs. 21,500. Samsung has brought down the price by almost Rs. 5,000-Rs. 6,000 from the earlier pricing which was around INR 27,000.
With Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update already available this device doesn't fall behind others. The device has already gone through a multiple price cut down and few software updates months ago.
Here is a brief rundown on the specs of the two devices:
