The Gionee E6 is still far distant from reality, but the makers have announced the coming of world's slimmest Super AMOLED phone in India. The Chinese tech vendor is already selling Gionee E3 in the market and now the company has come up with E-life- E5. As per company's official press release, the phone would be launched at Rs. 19,999 in the Indian handset market. However, the exact release date is yet to be communicated.
The handset has a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display having 1280 x 720 pixels at 306 PPi. Inside the device, a 1.5GHz quad -core processor is being provided along with 16GB of internal memory. The press release, however, did not mention RAM size. The Gionee E5 will have an 8-mega pixel rear facing camera with built-in features like Gesture recognition, face detection, smile detection, skin tone enhancer and touch focus, among others. There's a 5-mega pixel front facing camera too.
The Gionee E5 is made of unibody plastic and comes in Yellow, Graphite Black and White. The makers have added a 2000mAh Li Ion battery. With the success of Gionee E3 in the Indian market, the ELIFE E-5 came as a surprise. The Gionee E5 will be facing stiff competition from just launched Micromax Canvas 4 and Karbonn Titanium S9.
The Micromax Canvas 4, which was announced later in the day, is stuffed with a 5-inch HD IPS display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.2-GHz quad core processor ( MediaTek 6589), 1GB of RAM, 16GB of ROM( expandable), Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean, a 13-mega pixel rear shooter along with 5-mega pixel front facing camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth , A-GPS and a 2000mAh Li Ion battery. The phone is priced at Rs.17,999.
Another major player, Karbonn, is also not far behind. The Titanium S9 was announced last week at a price of Rs. 19,990. The device boasts of a 5.5-inch HD IPS display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM, which can be expanded further by microSD card. The Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. You will also find a 13-mega pixel rear shooter at the back and 5-mega pixel front facing camera on the front. The battery ( 2600mAh ) is large enough to keep the phone running.
