Gionee Elife E6 Hands On: First Look

The most interesting part of Elife E6 is definitely its User Interface (UI). Well, it would not be a right correct word to use refreshed UI. Let us brief you about Amigo (a Chinese world for friend). The makers have integrated Amigo on the top of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It's a kind of home baked OS. When you first open the phone, you won't realize that E6 is powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

With the integration of Amigo, the E6 listens to you and work accordingly. The way you want your device to work, that's how E6 performs. Basically, Amigo is a Proprietary OS based on Android OS. The device given to us to play around with was not running final version. Surely the retail version of E6 would be more fluid and suited as per Indian audience.

Many a time, if the device is made correctly then somehow the camera turned out to be horrendous. The Elife E6 sports a 13-mega pixel camera with Auto Focus, BSI sensor and an LED Flash light. We didn't get enough time to test how good the 13MP Camera is. Still for the sake of our satisfaction, GizBot clicked 2-3 pictures. The outcome was unexpected in the indoors, however, Gionee Elife E6 rear facing camera is indeed "Awesome ". There is a slight change in the Camera UI with slew of customization options.

Conclusion, Price and competition

Our experience with Gionee Elife E6 went satisfactory. Even though, the time was too short to test the device as per GizBot standard. Yes, Gionee has done a brilliant job in executing Elife E6. Now what is critical in front of Gionee is the retail price of Elife E6. The final decision about the pricing is still underway. The makers are trying to ship E6 at Rs. 24,990, if all goes well with the plan.
