Announced back in November 2013, Gionee Elife E7 has been launched in the India today at the starting price of Rs 26,999 for 16GB and Rs 29,999 for 32GB respectively. The company has already started moving upstream in the Indian market with its Elife E6 smartphone. Thus it wouldn't be a tough march for the newbie Elife E7 handset to get along with the competition that is ongoing among various devices in India.
However, going by the specs, the Elife E7, the successor to E6 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS touch screen display based on One Glass Solution from JDI with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a 2.33mm ultra-narrow frame.
The handset is powered by Qualcomm's most powerful 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 processor. It is backed with 3GB of RAM with 32GB internal memory. The handsets run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS with a layer of Amigo 2.0 UI.
Moving on to the imaging domain, the Elife E7 features a 16-megapixel auto focus rear camera with 1/2.3″ 1.34 µm Largan M8 sensor, 5 element Sapphire Lens and a unique and stunning 8-megapixel auto focus front-facing shooter.
Connectivity options include LTE/3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, USB,OTG and NFC.
The Elife E7 measures 150.6 x 75.0 x 9.5mm-6.2mm and weighs 150 grams and draws its energy from a 2500 mAh built-in battery.
Concerning the UI features, Elife E7 has new ways to wake up the screen such as Double Tap, Black Screen Gesture that lets you draw the gestures on the black screen to go to customized apps and Voice Control.
On top of that, this handset also incorporates 3 microphones for noise cancellation as well. The Elife E7 will be available in Black, White, Blue, Green, Orange and Red colors.
Price and Availability
The Gionee Elife E7 will be available in Indian market from January 2014 and in two variants, 32GB/3GB RAM and 16GB/2GB RAM priced at Rs 29,999 and Rs 26,999 respectively.

Thus looking at the devices that fall in the same price category, most handsets like the newly launched Lenovo Vibe X, Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, Micromax Canvas Turbo and Karbonn Titanium S7 will surely be a rebel against the newbie. With Gionee, we believe that a sensor hub technology should be used anytime, anywhere, hands free, and voice controlled. The first version of AMIGO voice assistant will support Chinese.
There is a 12 Levels Auto Beauty which is a make up a effect that ensures the user will always look flawless in every picture. SR Auto - Intelligent Scene Recognition Function is also present. There are 7 modes viz. automatic, portrait, Micro, night, night portrait, backlight, backlight portrait. Gradienter Air Level for Composition, Golden cut, vertical composition, diagonal line, S composition, Footprint mode, Meeting Memo Mode, Intelligent identification of board meetings, PPT contents and more. Automatically cut, adjust angels, and sharpen images of content for easy reading is also incorporated in the feature.
You can just double tap the screen to wake up the system. You can now eliminate the need to pick up the phone and press the power button. You can also find Black Screen Gesture where you can simply draw the gestures on the black screen and go directly into the customized corresponding procedures. Voice Control can also be found.
The new Elife E7 sports 3 mic with noise cancellations which reduces noise and offers clearer conversation experience in every situation.
The OTG gives you freedom to share by connecting a USB to the smartphone to instantly view or save documents. While NFC does a similar job like sharing photos, MP3, videos, and anything you want in the twinkling of an eye, user can define different modes.
