Gionee Elife E7 Hands On Review: First Look
Gionee claims that its Amigo UI is the backbone of the new Elife E7. The phone is powered by Android but Gionee has tried to differentiate the experience by integrating its native custom layer on the top. There's no separate app drawer, and foremost the experience is not brilliant. Indian consumers are not interested in confusing interface - be it Gionee's Amigo UI or Huawei's Emotion UI.
There's a reason why Google Nexus range is so popular in India despite high price. We are not against the native UI. In parts the UI works like a charm but most of the time it's really confusing for an average Indian users.
The Gionee Elife E7's biggest strength lies in the camera. The 16MP with 1.34 pixel sizerear-facing camera offers better experience than any normal point and shoot camera. Also, the makers have added an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
Moreover, the camera interface is really intuitive and easy to learn on your own. The makers have managed to bring professional DSLR-like camera interface for pro-users, which is commendable. As many as 9 design filters and multiple filter modes have been added to make imaging experience more fun. We will do a detailed review of the handset to check whether Elife E7's camera can beat Canon D600 DSLR or not.
Besides a powerful camera, the device incorporates a 2.5GHz quad-core processor powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8974AC SoC, backed by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. It is to be noted that the phone also comes with 2GB RAM (16GB ROM). Moreover, the handset also supports 4G LTE network, 3G, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS and a 2500mAh battery.
Undoubtedly, the Gionee Elife E7 is a capable phone with so much to offer. We are impressed with the device. The final call will be taken when we review the device in detail. Stay tuned to GizBot for more details.
