Gionee Elife S5.5: The World's Slimmest Smartphone Is Now Official
It seems like Chinese smartphone manufacturers are competing against its fellow native rivals in the global smartphone arena. Apart from the devices which come from manufacturers like Lenovo, Huawei, ZTE and Oppo, Gionee is one such brand coming from the people's republic nation, which has been excelling more in the high-end segment in India. However, its mid-rage devices are not bad either.
Now yet again, the company has awestruck the smartphone community by announcing its latest Elife S5.5 device. The most incredible feature of the handset is that it is now the world's thinnest smartphone at just 5.5 mm.
A 3G variant of the device is already up for pre-order in China for $370 (approx. Rs. 23,010), with an LTE version set to come this June. More interestingly, the company claims that it will gradually launch the phone in 40 countries worldwide.
Talking about the specs, the slim smartphone comes with a 5 display with undisclosed resolution. It would come powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core processor backed by 2GB of RAM. It will use the company's "Amigo" Android-based OS in this device.
Imaging capability will be taken care by the 13 MP rear camera. While the 5MP front facing snapper might just be a sufficient unit to take selfies and making video calls. Also the device would be powered by a 2300 mAh battery.
But these specs are not complete as the details on the resolution, Android version, and also the features are yet to be disclosed by the company.
