Gionee Elife S5.5 Vs Elife E7: Who Wins the In-House Smartphone Battle?
Gionee is currently on a roll. The year may have just started but that hasn't stopped the company from releasing a number of high-end yet affordable smartphones back-to-back. And two of the most recent advancements in that respect from the company are the Gionee S5.5 and Gionee Elife E7.
While Gionee is currently carrying out business in the Indian domestic market, it also understands that this market is one of the fastest growing ones in the planet, and hence will look to introduce devices that satisfy both the customers' smartphone-based needs, as well as are friendly to the pocket.
But while the entire world still waits to measure up against the Gionee offerings, how exactly do these devices work out when pitted against one another? Hence, here's a comparison of specifications between the Gionee S5.5 and Gionee Elife E7.
Operating System
There's not much to choose from in this respect since both the devices come offering the Google-based Android Jelly Bean operaring system. However, it's unknown if the devices will support the new Android KitKat offering later down the line.
Display and Dimensions
The Gionee Elife S5.5 sports a 5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen, while rendering 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. Also, the device's overall dimensions measure up to 145.1 x 70.2 x 5.6 mm.
The Elife E7, comparatively, comes with a slightly greater 5.5-inch display with an IPS LCD capacitive touch screen, while also rendering 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. The device's overall dimensions measure up to 150.6 x 75 x 9.5 mm.
Camera
The Gionee Elife S5.5, in terms of camera, offers a 13-megapixel primary camera, sporting a pixel resolution of 4160 x 3120 pixels, with autofocus and LED flash. The device also has a secondary 5-megapixel camera on board that's more than enough for conducting video chats.
The Elife E7, on the other hand, sports a greater 16-megapixel primary camera, sporting a pixel resolution of 3456 x 4608 pixels, with autofocus and LED flash. The device also has a greater secondary 8-megapixel camera on board that will be more than just a camera that sits in the front of the phone.
In-Device Processors
While the Gionee Elife S5.5 is equipped with a octa core 1.7 GHz processor, its immidiate counterpart powers up the Elife E7 via a 2.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 SoC.

Storage and RAM
The Gionee Elife S5.5 offers 2GB of RAM to users while offering the device in a 16 GB internal memory variant. However, there's no option to expand the device's memory as an external microSD slot for additional memory is missing.
The Elife E7, on the other hand, offers 2GB of RAM for 16 GB or 3GB of RAM for 32 GB internal memory variants. But similar to the other Gionee handset, there's no option to expand the device's memory since Gionee decided against offering any external microSD slot.
Battery
While the Gionee Elife S5.5 juices up the Jelly Bean-powered device via a 2300 mAh battery, the Elife E7 comes sporting a somewhat decent yet non-removable slightly greater 2500 mAh battery.
Price
While the Gionee Elife S5.5 has been currently priced at Rs 22,999 for aspiring customers, the Elife E7 has been priced at Rs. 19,900 for the 16 GB version and Rs. 26,905 for the 32 GB variant.
Verdict
There's basically not much to choose from between both the devices since both of them offer more or less specifications. However, as far as in-device power of the overall form factor is concerned, it seems like the S5.5 could easily take the cake.
The S5.5, comparatively, comes sporting an octa core processor while also being as thin as 5.5mm. Apart from that, it's also slightly less pricey that the Elife E7. And if our guesses fall in place in the coming months, it may seem like the the S5.5 will easily be the more popular of the two involved.
