The early signs of a growing economy with an equally booming market isn't always derived via the number of foreign companies that are currently investing in the market, but rather by the advent of the ones that have been setup within the country. And if that factor is taken into account, it may seem like the Indian market is currently heading in the right direction.

With major companies such as Micromax and Karbonn making noise with their regular release list of devices, the only way for this domestic market is toward the top.

Gionee Elife S5.5 Vs Micromax Canvas Knight A350: A Specs Comparison

However, even considering the foreign companies in the action, it seems like the popularity of the likes of Apple and Samsung in the country has also given rise to the advent of a number of other smartphone makers from other parts of the world, especially China. And thus there are manufacturers such as Gionee which has now made a presence with the introduction of the new Elife S5.5 handset.

Gionee just launched the very sleek and slim Elife S5.5 in the Indian market at Rs 22,999, with the company also going that extra mile in carefully choose the device's name so as to highlight the 5.5mm profile of the new device. And the device now takes the ground against the previously released Micromax Canvas Knight A350 - both of which have an octa core processor to power the devices.

So keeping aside all others currently in the same race, which of the two do you think have the best specifications and features when compared to the other? Let's take a close look at a more detailed specification comparison between the Gionee Elife S5.5 and the Micromax Canvas Knight A350.

Operating System
As it seems, there's not much to choose from in this respect since both the devices run on the Google-based Android operating system. However, it's a bit of a downer to see none of the devices will offer the latest Android KitKat offering, and will rather run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Display and Dimensions
The Gionee Elife S5.5 sports a 5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen, while rendering 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. Also, the device's overall dimensions measure up to 145.1 x 70.2 x 5.6 mm.

The Micromax-made Canvas Knight A350, comparatively, comes with a similar 5-inch, although an IPS LCD, capacitive touch screen, while also rendering 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution.

Camera
The Gionee Elife S5.5, in terms of camera, offers a 13-megapixel primary camera, sporting a pixel resolution of 4160 x 3120 pixels, with autofocus and LED flash. The device also has a secondary 5-megapixel camera on board that's more than enough for conducting video chats.

The Micromax-made Canvas Knight A350, on the other hand, sports a slightly greater 16-megapixel primary camera, sporting a pixel resolution of 3456 x 4608 pixels, with autofocus and LED flash. The device also has a greater secondary 8-megapixel camera on board that will be more than just a camera that sits in the front of the phone.

Processing Power
As far as the in-device powers are concerned, both the devices offer dedicated hardware specifications that are capable of powering the devices.

While the Gionee Elife S5.5 is equipped with a octa core 1.7 GHz processor, its Micromax counterpart powers up the Canvas Knight A350 via a greater 2 GHz octa core Cortex A7 processor and Mali 450MP4 chipset.

Storage and RAM
The Gionee Elife S5.5 offers 2GB of RAM to users while offering the device in a 16 GB internal memory variant. However, there's no option to expand the device's memory as an external microSD slot for additional memory is missing.

The Micromax-made Canvas Knight A350, on the other hand, offers the same 2GB of RAM while offering the device in a much greater 32 GB internal memory variant. But similar to the Gionee handset, there's no option to expand the device's memory since Micromax decided against offering any external microSD slot.

Battery
While the Gionee Elife S5.5 juices up the Jelly Bean-powered device via a 2300 mAh battery, the Micromax Canvas Knight A350 comes sporting a somewhat decent yet non-removable slightly greater 2350 mAh battery.

Price
While the Gionee Elife S5.5 has been currently priced at Rs 22,999 for aspiring customers, the Micromax-made Canvas Knight A350 has been priced at Rs. 19,999.

Verdict
As you may have already seen or deduced from the aforementioned comparison that neither of the devices are that different from one another. Even the prices of the devices are not different. And it seems like this one will definitely go to the wires when considering the closeness to one another.

However, if the small details are taken into picture, it may seem like the Micromax-made Canvas Knight A350 will take the cake with its better camera and processor over the Gionee Elife S5.5.
