Gionee to unveil Next-Gen Flagship at MWC 2015, Wearable and E7 Successor Also Coming in Q2 2015
The year 2014 has been incredible for smartphone maker Gionee. After the successful launch of Gionee E7, Elife S5.5 and Elife S5.1, now the company has some big plans lined up for 2015.
During our recent visit to the Gionee's factory unit based in Shenzhen (China), GizBot got an opportunity to talk to the company officials including William Lu, the president of Gionee and Arvind Vohra, India's operation head. Here we came to know, that the next few months will prove to be one of the most exciting phase for Gionee.
This can be said, as the company is going to launch its upcoming flagship device under the Elife series at the annual Mobile Congress Congress (MWC) in March 2015.

Gionee Upcoming Flagship
The China-based tech powerhouse has even managed to impress critics with the stunning Elife E7, followed by the impressive Elife S5.1. Now the immediate question comes to mind is how the next flagship might look like, will it be the slimmest of all Gionee's smartphone or will it be something different.
Well, as per the information provided my company's head officials, the upcoming flagship will be a metal bodied smartphone and will come with a big 5 inch to 5.5 inch screen display. Notably, the device might also include a dedicated fingerprint scanner at the back and the highly anticipated smartphone could drive Gionee among the crème de la crème smartphone brands.
Gionee E7 Successor
It has long been speculated that the Elife E8 will come along Gionee's next flagship device at the annual Mobile World Congress (MWC) in March next year. Well Gionee is readying itself to launch the successor to the Elife E7 - widely believed to be called the Elife E8, in the second quarter of 2015, that will be after MWC 2015.
If going by the company officials, the Gionee E8 has already entered the production stage and will hit the market shelves around June-July 2015. As to what the features the Elife E8 will have, Gionee says it's too early to reveal the cat out of the box.
Gionee Smartwatch Also Coming
The past few months has been rocked with a lot of tech reports and with the release of Gionee's smart wearable device, even greater buzz is now circulating around the device. Finally, Gionee says it's working on a smartwatch and will unveil the device, somewhere around the second quarter of Q2 2015.
While details are still sketchy, but we've got to know that the intelligent watch will be inspired by Apple's Watch. With that in mind, some believe that Gionee could merge traditional watch features with the so-called ‘smart' features, just like Apple's elegant looking Watch.
Driven by rising in smartphone penetration, Gionee has now close to 4.5 million customer base in India. Not just that, the company now says they will continue to pump resources to strengthen their retail network across Indian cities.
The Shenzhen-based company recently started selling the Elife S5.1- its latest smartphone which comes with a 5.1 mm body. The phone is priced at Rs. 18,000, and it will bound to give tough competition to the likes of Vivo X5 Max and Oppo R5, among others.
