Google Nexus 4 Units Sold Out Within an Hour of Release at Play Store
Another Google Android product sold out within an hour of its release, this time it is the Google Nexus 4 Smartphone manufactured by LG which achieved this rare feat. Google confirmed on Tuesday that Nexus 4 phone which was placed at Google Play Shop got depleted suddenly and company had to post notices requesting users to let them know their email addresses so that they will be informed once the device becomes available again for purchase online.
The Google Nexus team gave an update on Google+ "There's been so much interest for the Nexus line-up that we've sold out of some of our initial stock in a few countries”. They also added that they will be making more Nexus devices available in the Play shop soon to meet the huge demand. It may be recalled that Nexus4 smartphones were launched by Google for a price tag of $299 (Rs 20,000 in India) few days back. Since these phones are not tied to any operator’s network, they don’t carry any discounted price tag with them. However, looking at the features and looks of the same, this price doesn’t seem to high when compared to iPhone models from Apple.
The Play store page having Nexus4 had this tagline saying "With cutting edge hardware, the latest version of Android, and the best Google apps -- Nexus 4 puts the world's information at your fingertips." This seems to have worked well with the consumers as it went sold out within an hour of its launch in the Play store.
There are also reports coming in suggesting that Nexus4 stock has got exhausted in countries like US, Germany and UK and many have even complained about their bad experience in the online. This is something unusual for Google and they may act fast to clear off these concerns and increase the sales turnover of its new Nexus line of products. Google on Tuesday also launched 7 and 10 inch tablet computers as well as latest Android 4.2 version as an OTA update.
