Google branded and LG manufactured Google Nexus 5 made its way to the tech arena recently following its predecessors' footsteps, featuring high-powered hardware and just like Nexus 4, an incredibly low price tag internationally.
While, the handset is just a day away from it's official launch on the Indian boundaries, as per the ongoing reports, it has already made its way unofficially in the market at a slightly higher price. This can be said as, Indian e-retailer, ibhejo has started selling the 16GB variant of the device at the price of Rs. 30,198. GizBot had already reported about it earlier this month. The retailing website also claims that the units are imported from the USA, where the phone is already available. The phone will be delivered in 25-30 days after you place an order.
On the other hand, Nexus 5 has now also landed on Indian shores through online retailing store, Snapdeal. The retailer has been taking down the pre-orders for the 16GB White variant of the handsets from the customers for quite some time. However, the price of the device has not been mentioned by the retailer but they are taking the pre-orders at Rs. 999. Reportedly, the official price is expected to be around Rs. 28,999.
Just now, reports are also swirling in that Shopping.Indiatimes is also selling the handset at Rs. 29,990.
Going by the specs, the recently launched LG made Nexus 5 handset comes with a 5-inch full HD IPS display with a pixel density of 445 ppi. It is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
When it comes to power, the handset comes packed with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 quad core processor clocked to 2.3 GHz. The handset is also supported by a 2GB RAM and Adreno 330 graphics unit clocked to 450MHz. The handset runs on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS.
The LG Nexus 5 has an 8 megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization. The new lens on the Nexus 5 is touted to capture more light for brighter night and sharper action shots. There is also a 1.3 megapixel front facing shooter.
In terms of connectivity, the handset features a Dual-band WiFi (24G/5G), 3G/4G LTE and NFC (Android Beam) and houses a 16GB of internal storage capacity.
The handset draws its energy from a 2300mAh battery which the company claims to offer up to 17 hours of talktime and standby time of up to 300 hours.
