Google's flagship smartphone for this holiday season, the Nexus 6, is already being projected as the device to reckon with. Made by Motorola, the high-end phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, and will be made available for purchase in India shortly. It is already being listed on Google Play store, starting upwards of Rs. 44,000.

Of course, being a premium super Android phone, the Nexus 6 will be pitted against the likes of Samsung Galaxy Note 4. We've not yet had a chance to try out the Google Nexus 6, so this comparison between the two devices is purely on the basis of the specs of each phone. Let's get it started.

The Google Nexus 6 looks quite similar to the Motorola Moto X (2014). It has the same curved back, plus you also get see the metallic edges around the sides of the phone.

The Nexus 6 measures 159.26 x 82.98 x 10.06mm and weighs 184g while the Note 4 measures a slightly slimmer 153.5 x 78.6 x 8.5mm and weighs 176g.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4, in the meanwhile, feels more like the original Galaxy Note 3. It doesn't look premium, like the Nexus 6. Moreover, the phone is still crafted out of polycarbonate plastic.

The Nexus 6 has a huge 5.96-inch 2,560 x 1,440 resolution display, giving it a pixel density of 493ppi (pixels per inch). The Galaxy Note 4's screen is a slightly smaller at 5.7-inch, but also packs a 2,560 x 1,440 resolution, giving it a moderately higher pixel density of 515ppi.We assume the Galaxy Note 4 will be slightly better in the display department. Both phones have AMOLED display panel.

Google Nexus 6 Vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4: Software

Android 5.0 Lollipop will come loaded on the Nexus 6 out-of-the box. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4, in the meanwhile, is running on Android 4.4.4 KitKat and TouchWiz UI. Samsung promises to update the Note 4 to Android 5.0 sometime later this year.

Both the Galaxy Note 4 and Nexus 6 using a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, Adreno 420 GPU and 3 GB of RAM. The Note 4 is stuffed with a 32GB of on-board storage and a microSD card slot (up to 128GB). The Nexus 6 will be offered with a choice of 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage, but it lacks a microSD expansion slot. Both handset support 4G LTE connectivity.

The Google Nexus 6 is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS (Optical image stabilization), dual-LED flash, 4K video recording @ 30 fps, 1080p video @ 30 fps, and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4, on the other hand, features a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with OIS (optical image stabilization), continuous autofocus, 4K video recording @ 30 frames per second, 1080p video @ 60 fps, and a 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling and selfies.

Well, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is winning the race in the camera department.

Google Nexus 6 Vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4: Battery and Verdict

Both the Nexus 6 and Galaxy Note 4 come with a 3,220mAh battery. Just for the reminder, the Nexus 6 has a bigger screen to power.

The Google Nexus 6 and Galaxy Note 4 are equally enticing beasts. If you're planning to invest your money in a large screen phablet, the Nexus 6, which runs Android 5.0 (Lollipop), appears to be a better option. Moreover, the Nexus 6 is bound to get latest Android updates whenever Google releases them.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4, on the other hand, offers tons on extra features, notably, its ability of taking notes using the S-Pen. The Note 4 is available for purchase in India for Rs. 58,000.
