Google Releases Android 4.4.4_r2 Update for Nexus 5 In India

Without any prior notice or official announcement, Google has suddently started rolling out an OTA update to Android version 4.4.4_r2 KitKat for Nexus 5 device in India. The update doesn't bring any interesting new features nor does it change the version number but it is reportedly said to bring some minor bug fixes.

It is believed that the update addresses to some network related issues by installing a completely new radio image. It is not a big update as it appears but looks like it is a maintenance update for Android 4.4.4 based Nexus 5 smartphone.

The news started spreading as Google+ user Manish Kumar posted a screenshot of the 'About phone' image of a Nexus 5 with build number KTU84P which after the update changed to KTU84Q. The user, further says, that the update weighs just 2.2MB.

So far, not much is known about the update and it is not meant for India alone but Nexus 5 users in Australia and New Zealand will also receive the same update soon. The information comes from Google's Developer website where it mentions- 4.4.4 Release 2 (For 2Degrees/NZ, Telsta/AUS and India ONLY)."
