HTC 8S Online Price Drops to Rs 17799 Following Nokia Lumia 620 Release in India


For those consumers who were rubbing their hands to buy HTC 8S - the mid-range Windows Phone 8 based offering, the right time has come. Yes! The Taiwanese tech giant HTC seems to have slashed the price of the smartphone.

Back in December 2012, HTC released 8S in India at a price of Rs 19,359 approximately. Being the sole mid-range Windows Phone 8 player in the country at that point of time, 8S created waves of excitement among the consumers. But not for long, as Lumia 620 was announced in India the next month itself and it is now available at a lesser price of Rs 14,999.


It has been a couple of weeks since the release of Lumia 620 in India and the price of HTC 8S has been slashed from Rs 19,359 to Rs 17,799. Online retailer has listed HTC 8S at the reduced price of Rs 17,799 for purchase.

To remind of specs, HTC 8S sports a 4 inch Super LCD display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution, 1GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 512MB RAM, 16GB internal memory, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, micro SD card slot for expandable memory support, 1,700 mAh Li-Po battery, Beats Audio integration, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi features. Further, the handset has been released in Blue, Red and Black variants.

At the same time, the stiff competitor of 8S - Lumia 620 comes with a 3.8 inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, 1GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, NFC, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth and 1,300 mAh battery. Lumia 620 will come in Magenta, Yellow, Cyan, White and Black color variants.

Analyzing the specs, 8S may be expensive as compared to the estimated price of Lumia 620, however, it comes with advanced features including Beats Audio integration and more.
