HTC announces software updates for One X phones


The first official software update for HTC One X smartphones is the latest news in the Android market. The new update will bring the version number of the phone to 1.28.401.9. It is a 30MB update. Users have to enter into 'Settings > About > Software Updates' for accessing the new update. If the phone is network-branded then approval from carrier is needed before updating. The update is purely based on Android 4.0.3.

The on-screen menu options in various Google apps including YouTube will function efficiently without any troubles with this new update. The automatic brightness has been pared back as well. The battery life issues with this gadget right from its launch are fixed with this new update. The bugs which caused garbled text and certain icons notification bar have been eliminated with this update.

Company officials mentioned that the gadget requires at least 35% battery at the time of update. They also warned that charging the gadget while updating may lead to interference in the process. They also warned that users are not allowed to make even urgent calls which may result in update failure. So the users have to be in full alert when the update takes place.
