The Taiwanese giant HTC is no more enjoying a steady run in the smartphone market these days. The failure of HTC One has severely impacted profits. In the past few months, we have seen number of launches from the house of HTC. Now, the makers behind Desire 600 are planning a sequel to acclaimed Butterfly.
Currently dubbed as Butterfly 2, the device is said to have a 5.2-inch Full HD display with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC. According to a Chinese website (via CtechCN.com), the phablet is real, and it is rumored to arrive in January 2014. The website also posted some images of HTC Butterfly 2.
The alleged picture shows off colored panels of the device, apparently in Blue, Black and White. Moreover, the device will be similar to Sony Xperia Z1, not in terms of design or hardware, but in respect to waterproof nature of the phablet. No more details are available at this moment.
Earlier this year, HTC has come up with Butterfly S, a high-end device to compete with Samsung Galaxy S4. The Butterfly S sports a 5-inch Super LCD 3 display with the resolution of 1080p. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box along with HTC Sense 5.0 and BlinkFeed UI on the top.
Further, it is powered by a 1.9 GHz Snapdragon 600 processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage (expandable storage via a microSD slot). It also has a 4.3-mega pixel UltraPixel camera with HTC Zoe software and a 2.1MP front facing camera. The makers have added a 3200mAh LiIon battery.
