HTC Butterfly 2 With Dual Rear Camera Coming To India, Other Asian Markets Soon

The Butterfly 2 smartphone from HTC was unveiled in Japan with a carrier partner KDDI last month but it came up with a J Butterfly (HTL23) name tag. Today the Taiwan-based smartphone maker has officially announced the device for the Asian markets.

HTC Butterfly 2 With Dual Rear Camera Coming To India Soon

The HTC Butterfly 2 will be made available in Red, White and Blue color variants and would go on sale in Taiwan starting September 2nd. HTC would also launch the smartphone in Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand soon.

HTC Butterfly 2: Key Specifications

HTC Butterfly 2 sports a 5.0-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super LCD 3 display and is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU. It is also complemented with 2 GB RAM and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with HTC Sense 6 UI.

In the imaging front, the HTC Butterfly 2 will offer an interesting picture output as it uses 13MP primary rear camera with dual LED Flash, f/2.0, 28mm lens and a 2MP secondary rear camera to capture depth information. Moreover at the front, you will also get to see a 5MP front-facing snapper with BSI sensor, 1080p Full HD video recording.

It houses 16GB / 32GB internal memory, which is expandable up to 128GB using microSD card. Connectivity options include: 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX codec, NFC and GPS with GLONASS.

HTC Butterfly 2 also comes with a IPX5 / IPX7 for dust and water resistance and Infrared LED for remote control. Obviously, the device features a Dual front-facing stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers which HTC has been using in all its handsets. It is powered by a 2700 mAh battery.

HTC has tied up with HARMAN for JBL LiveStage Signal Processing Technology for better audio output. It comes bundled with exclusively designed JBL in-ear-headphones in Japan.

The phone has a very competitive specs and can easily fight the top tier devices including Samsung Galaxy S5, LG G Pro 2, LG G3, HTC One M8, Sony Xperia Z2 and others.
