Online retailer Expansys has listed HTC Butterfly, the global version of HTC Droid DNA, as available for pre-order in the U.K. market. Price or other details about availability are not mentioned in the site even though people can order their phones through the site. The website also says that it won't charge when the customer makes the purchase, until the phone is shipped out to them.
A few days ago, it was heard that HTC butterfly would be released in China this month, thus joining US and Japan. However, this pre-order status in UK indicates that the phone might be up for launch in UK also.
However, customers are warned of these pre-order units. Word is out that these phones might be the grey-market ones which means that HTC hasn't officially begun selling the phone in UK. If such a phone is bought, official warranty from HTC and other perks like that would not be available for the user.
The version put up as pre-order status is a SIM-free and unlocked version and black in color. It spots the typical HTC display of 5 inch with 1080p resolution. The US version of HTC Butterfly comes with Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz along with 16 GB of internal storage, 2 GB RAM and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform.
Similar specifications are listed out for the UK version of the phone as well, in the website. A really heavy price tag is expected to be attached to the phone with these specifications. The China version is said to be priced around $700. It would not be a surprise if the U.K. version costs around the same too.
As of now there is no information on the pricing and availability in the other markets including India. However, as the handset is getting pre-order status in UK, it is assumed by tech expters that Butterfly will reach India in early 2013.
