HTC ChaCha Enters Indian Market

The Smartphone segment in Indian is growing with more and more models launched on a daily basis today. Top players like Nokia, HTC and Samsung are in the forefront whereas others such as Sony Ericsson, Motorola, and LG etc are fast catching up. Domestic players like Micromax, Maxx Mobiles and Spice are also making forays into making Smartphones as they believe it is going to be a lucrative segment in the Indian mobile market soon.

Now Smartphones are available at highly affordable prices thanks to the rise in competition and today we preview a new entrant in the Indian Smartphone segment that is priced aggressively. The biggest point to be noted id that the low cost phone is made by HTC which is a company reputed for its premium priced phones. They rarely make an economical phone. The new kid on the block is HTC ChaCha.

It is an attempt by HTC to tap the vast mid range Smartphone market that is booming with new releases over the past couple of months.

HTC ChaCha marking feature is it is the second offering from HTC that comes with a dedicated Facebook button after the Salsa launched earlier. Salsa was a full Touch screen based model whereas HTC ChaCha another feature is it is a touch and type phone that has a 2.6 inch capacitive touch screen based display complemented by a large physical QWERTY keypad.

The dedicated Facebook button is not the only highlight of the phone. It is high on multimedia and other relevant Smartphone specs. The phone offers support for a wide variety of multimedia features like music playback software that supports different formats like MP3, WMV, WAV etc and also a video player that supports several well known file formats.

HTC Cha has a powerful camera that allows high definition video recording also. It has a VGA front camera to enable users to have video chatting via super fast 3G networks.
The phone has a good internal memory besides offering up to 32 GB of external memory expansion via a Micro SD slot. HTC Cha has good connectivity and internet options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, EDGE, GPRS and 3G data connectivity with data transfer speeds on 3G networks reaching 10 Mbps on a maximum.

The HTC Cha phone runs on Android 2.3 OS and is coupled to a fast 800 MHz processor that gives it seamless performance and multi tasking ability.
