HTC Desire 616 Leaked Online: Octa-Core Android Smartphone On the Cards?

    Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC already made its latest M8 smartphone official yesterday and has impressed most of its fans. But the maker of the HTC One is not going to stop here as the new handset from the company has appeared online touting an octa-core chipset.

    HTC was rumored to come up with the device featuring an octa-core processor since last year and finally it has gradually started showing up online. This smartphone is called HTC Desire 616 (or 616w), and it's just been approved by Chinese authorities.

    But don't think that the device is as good as the recently launched HTC M8. The HTC M8 is the flagship device of the company for this year.

    When it comes to the newly leaked Desire 616 smartphone, it looks like its going to be China-bound device as a PhoneArena reports says that the "there is high demand for octa-core smartphones, although these usually aren't more powerful than quad-core units."

    Talking about the details of the device, the Desire 616 appears to be made out of plastic. It coems with a 5-inch 720p display and is powered by an octa-core 1.7GHz MediaTek processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The handset sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and no details on the front facing camera is available as of now. It is reportedly said to come in five color versions viz. black, blue, white, red and yellow. The device measures 142 x 71.9 x 9.1 mm and weighs 150 grams.

    Still there are some information missing about the device like the display technology, front facing camera, battery and connectivity as well.
