HTC's Indian adventure is not the kind of ones you read about Apple or Samsung everywhere these days. Rather, the company, in realistic terms, still has a long journey ahead of it before it can finally come to terms with other big names in the market.
However, HTC hasn't really given up on hope and has already released three brand new devices that will now contest with other similar handsets in the market. While the company's newest One (M8) offering remains to be a premier contender in the high-price range, the other two Desire 210 and Desire 816 are also here to effectively sound war drums in the other sections.
Keeping our discussion limited for the time being, however, we are currently focusing on the HTC Desire 816 which comes with a worth-for-money tag attached to it.
Going through the device's highlighted specifications once more, the HTC Desire 816 sports a 5.5-inch 720p display, while being powered by a Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz and also paired with 1.5GB of RAM.
Other features of the phone include a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, 8GB of internal storage which can later be expanded using a microSD card, alongside a 2,600mAh battery.
However, what are your options if you are saving up to invest on a device that comes in the same range but isn't necessarily a Desire 816? Let's take a closer look at the top 6 smartphone rivals the Desire 816 will face once the market fully heats up.
