HTC Desire 820 Announced in India With 64-bit Octa Core CPU: All You need to Know

Today, HTC has launched its latest smartphone - the Desire 820 in India. The phone was first showcased at the IFA 2014 tech show in Berlin, earlier this month. The Desire 820 is one of those few devices which comes with a 64-bit octa core processor and also the company boasts about the fast LTE connectivity feature on the phone.

HTC has not revealed the pricing of the Desire 820 at the moment but regarding the retail availability, it said that the smartphone will hit the market shelves by November. Moreover, the company has also announced the dual SIM variant of the handset and calls it the Desire 820q. This particular model comes with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz.

HTC Desire 820: Key Specifications

The latest Desire 820 comes with a 5.5 inch HD LCD display churning out the pixel density of 267 ppi pixel density.

The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core CPUs clocked at 1.5 GHz and 1.0 GHz coupled with Adreno 405 GPU. In terms of multi-tasking you will get about 2GB of RAM. The Desire 820 runs on Android KitKat version. What is good about the new phone is that it has a 64-bit processor with integrated LTE modem.

Although, the handset doesn't come with the dual rear camera set-up like the one in the HTC One M8, however, it does offer a high end 13MP rear camera with BSI sensor, f/2.2, 28mm lens, 1080p video recording. Also add a monstrous 8MP frontal snapper with BSI sensor, which is capable of shooting video at 1080pixels quality.

Internal storage is seated at 16GB and it can be further enhanced up to 128 GB via microSD card.

Connectivity options include: Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX enabled , Wi-Fi, DLNA, HTC Connect, micro-USB 2.0 port . Moreover, the phone features a dual nano SIM slot. What is also an integral part of the phone is the support for 4G LTE network which runs on FDD (Bands 1,3,7,8 ) and TDD (Bands 38, 39, 40, 41 ).

The Desire 820 comes with a 2600 mAh Li-polymer battery, which according to the company will offer a talk time: of up to 22.4 hours on 3G network and standby time of up to 424 hours.

The HTC Desire range of smartphones features HTC's double shot color technology, which gives the phone a two-tone color unibody. Available in Marble White, Tuxedo Grey, Santorini White and Milky-way Grey and featuring HTC's iconic unibody design, the robust polycarbonate device is quite stylish and also boasts the excellent build quality.

The HTC Desire 820 packs an 8MP front-facing camera to capture high-quality selfies. A new feature that allows you to merge your features with a friend's or celebrity's for a modern mashup.

Another feature called Live Makeup lets you preview the image you just took and set the desired level of skin smoothing before taking the photo. Photo Booth is also a new one where you can capture several moments in a single image.



According to HTC, streaming, downloading, juggling multiple apps wouldn't be a problem on the HTC Desire 820, as it comes with a fast 4G connectivity (up to 150mbps). The latest Qualcomm Octa-Core 64-bit processor with integrated LTE modem and a Separate Performance and Low Power clusters within the processor for longer battery life.

The phone is also apt for gaming, watching TV or creating momentous video and photo sequences with Zoe Highlights, It also features a rich, clear sound by the front-facing stereo speakers and two powerful, dedicated amplifiers of HTC BoomSound.

The vivid, 5.5-inch HD 720p display also puts big-screen entertainment in your pocket for the ultimate no-compromise experience.

The HTC Desire 820 will also be available in a Dual SIM variant and it will be called the Desire 820q.
