HTC is unstoppable as the Nexus 9 tablet device has already been declared a hit for the company. Now, with the company finally into the black, the HTC One (M8) maker has yet another reason to rejoice.

If reports have anything to go by, HTC's Desire 820s has recorded pre-order sales in excess of 1.26 million units in China. The HTC Desire 820s is reportedly enjoying healthy pre-orders in China.

This is, of course, a positive sign for the brand, and it also shows HTC's continuous winning splash in China. Previously, they met with a similar reception during the launch of the Desire 816 in China. The device went on to become a huge hit, thanks to its affordable retail price.

The HTC Desire 820s, a special variant of the original Desire 820, is rocked with a 64-bit MediaTek MT6752 chipset clocked at 1.7GHz. It has a 5.5-inch HD display and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. It offers a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash, and an 8-megapixel secondary front-facing shooter, just like the Desire 820. The makers have added a 2,600mAh battery.

The internal memory stands at 16GB, which can be further expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). Connectivity options on the device include Dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, FM Radio, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, 3G and 4G LTE, among others.

As of now, the Desire 820s is exclusive to China. The phone could arrive in other Asian countries, though no schedules or prices have yet been unveiled just yet.

The success of both the Desire 820 and Desire 820s is important for HTC, which sees increased devices sales in China. HTC recently announced unaudited financial results that showed an 8% decline in revenue in September, but the company still managed to post a third-quarter profit.

HTC saw the largest drop in sales in July by close to 33% compared to the same period last year. However, in August the company saw 10% sales jump compared to the same month of 2013.

The second-half of 2014 is shaping up good for the brand. The company is largely focusing on the mid-end handset portfolio, which includes newer products like the HTC Desire Eye, Desire 816G, Desire 820, Desire 820s and the Desire 820q.

Back in India, HTC aims to be strong player in the smartphone market. The company expects India revenue to be strong, thanks to its robust portfolio of mid range smartphones. A few days back, HTC launched a couple of new handsets in India, including the Desire 820.
