HTC Desire 826: New Android Lollipop Smartphone With 4-UltraPixel Selfie Camera Launched at CES 2015

The CES has been around for ages and has been the foremost platform for manufacturing giants to showcase their innovations year on year. Consequently, the CES 2015 was no different with amazing new inventions and innovations announced on the press day. The show gives a chance to companies to unveil their latest and best products. The latest tech-giant to take the stage, is none other than the Taiwan-based handset manufacturer HTC.

While, HTC was expected to announce the flagship One M9, the company unveiled its new offering under mid-range series -- Desire 826. Flavored with Android Lollipop 5.0, HTC Desire 826 will come in two-variants, single SIM and dual SIM, depending on the regions.

HTC Desire 826 - Key Specifications

HTC Desire 826 sports a 5.5-inch full-HD display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. This device is powered by an octa-core (4x1.5GHz and 4x1.0GHz) 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and Adreno 405 GPU alongside 2GB of RAM. This smartphone measures 7.5mm thickness, weighs around 155grams and runs on Android Lollipop 5.0 out of the box.

Further, Desire 826 features a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, 28mm lens, BSI sensor, and LED flash. The front snapper will be a 4-UltraPixel shooter. It supports 16GB internal storage which can be expandable via MicroSD card and powered by a 2600mAh battery.

Additionally, this Desire 826 comes with, HTC Boom Sound with Dolby Audio included for quality sound and HTC EYE Experience, a software to optimize your smartphone's camera.

Moreover, on the connectivity side, it supports 4G LTE (dual-4G), WI-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS and Micro-USB. The HTC Desire 826 comes in two-tone variant, including White Birch, Blue Lagoon, and Purple Fire.

As there is no official announcement about the price of the smartphone, HTC Desire 826 will be launched in the Asia Pacific region first with the proper dates later this month. According to the report, CEO Chia-Lin Chang mentioned HTC will be releasing two new models on Desire 8 each year, and also added that flagship model will be equipped with Ultra-pixel front facing camera and enhanced boom speaker.
