Lets call this year, the one dedicated to selfie smartphones. From Nokia, Sony, Samsung, LG, Lenovo and others, everyone has come up with at least one device with a high-end font facing imaging sensor.
If you have been following HTC closely, the company is also preparing to launch the new device with similar selfie capabilities. The device, which is being called by few different names viz. HTC M8 Eye and Desire Eye, has leaked online once again and comes touting its physical appearance in full glory.
Moreover, the phone somewhat resembles the shape and size of the Desire 816 smartphone which was launched recently in India. The leaked images also suggest that it'll be available in Red and Blue colors options.
The phone is also dust and water resistant as it will have IPX7 rating and will run on Android KitKat 4.4 and also have a modified version of HTC's own Sense software suite. HTC is hosting the Double Exposure Event on October 8 where it will announce the RECamera .

HTC Desire Eye(a.k.a EYE); S801 2.3GHz*4, 5.2" FHD, 13MP/13MP, 2GB/32GB, 2400mAh removable, Sense 6 for EYE, IPX7
— @upleaks (@upleaks) October 3, 2014

As far as the specs are concerned, the HTC Desire Eye is said to come with a 5.2 inches display offering a resolution of 1080p (Full HD). The smartphone will house 32GB of internal memory and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad core processor clocked at 2.3Ghz. It would be coupled with 2GB of RAM for smooth multi tasking purpose.
As said earlier, the major highlight of the phone would be the camera. Thus, it is said that the Desire Eye will come with a 13 MP front and rear camera with Dual LED flash. It would be powered by a 2400 mAh removable battery.
However, there are already several devices with a selfie centric camera modules in them in the market so far. Devices like Sony Xperia C3, Gionee Elife E7 and even Lenovo smartphones are being launched with greater imaging sensors at the front. Thus, the upcoming HTC smartphone might have to face a bit of a competition in the market soon.
