HTC Event Set for July 11: HTC Desire 616 Dual-SIM Could Be Launched in India
HTC is slowly emerging as a brand to reckon with in emerging countries. In the past few months, the company has tried to introduce number of low-to-mid range handsets in countries such as India, China and other developing nations.
The Desire 816, Desire 516, Desire 210, and Desire 310 are some of the handsets that were launched for Asian markets, including India. HTC recently stunned consumers with an announcement of the Desire 616, a mid-range phone with an 8-core processor under the hood.

The phone has already been launched in Hong Kong and Singapore at a price point of Rs. 18,000. And now it appears that India could be the next country where we will see the launch of the Desire 616 Dual SIM.
HTC seems to be preparing to unveil the launch of the Desire 616 Dual SIM in India this month. Expectations are quite high for a mid-range handset that features a big display and a powerful processor inside.

HTC sent out invitations on Tuesday for an event on July 11. The company is widely expected to launch the Desire 616 Dual-SIM in the country, though there is no official confirmation from the Taiwanese giant. Moreover, the makers behind the HTC One (M8) could launch the One Mini 2, but there is a less chance to see the handset making its way into India.
HTC Desire 616 - Highlighted Specifications
The Desire 616 has a 5-inch 720p HD display. The device sports a powerful 1.4GHz Octa-Core processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of on-board memory, which can be later expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. The makers have added a 2000mAh battery fitted inside. The new HTC Desire 816 measures 9.15mm in terms of thickness and weighs in at 150 grams.
The handset is running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with HTC's trademark Sense 5.5 UI slapped on top. There's an 8-megapixel rear and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone's rear-facing camera is capable of recording videos in Full HD 1080p format.
The HTC Desire 616 Dual SIM will certainly face stiff competition from the Panasonic P81, which also houses an Octa-Core CPU. The latter phone is priced at Rs. 17,990 in India.
