HTC Launches Desire 700, Desire 601, Desire 501, and Desire 300: What About Specs?

Taiwanese smartphone vendor HTC, today announced four new handsets under Desire brand. The event took place in Taiwan, where the HTC One maker unleashed four low-to-mid range Desire phones including Desire 700, Desire 501, Desire 601 and Desire 300.

Out of four handsets, the Desire 300 is so far the most affordable HTC smartphone launched in the recent times. HTC hasn't revealed its plans to release new handsets globally, but the buzz is that this new family of Desire series could hit the stores in India before 2013-end.

HTC Desire 700

As the name suggests, the Desire 700 is a flagship handset announced by the makers behind HTC One. The phone appears to be premium, like any other HTC handset. The Desire 700 comes with a 5-inch qHD display having a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon SoC coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be expanded via a microSD card slot.

There's an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with a BSI sensor and an f/2.0 aperture. Also add a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear-facing camera can record videos in Full HD 1080p resolution and support HTC Zoe. The makers have added a 2,100mAh battery which can give 11-12 hours of talk time on 3G connectivity. The device does have a dual SIM functionality. The handset is priced at NTD 13,900 in Taiwan, which should be about Rs.29,138 in Indian Rupees.

HTC Launches Desire 700, Desire 601, Desire 501, and Desire 300

HTC Desire 501

The Desire 501 features a 4.3-inch WVGA display. The phone come loaded with a 1.15-GHz dual-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory with an expandable storage. There's an 8MP rear-facing camera without HTC Zoe support. Also add a 2MP front-facing camera. The handset is stuffed with a 2100mAh battery. Moreover, there is no built-in dual sided stereo speaker. The handset is priced NTD 9,900 in Taiwan, which should be Rs.20,788 in Indian Rupees. The phone does not have a dual SIM support.

HTC Desire 601

The Desire 601 is a mid-range Android handset with average specs. This dual SIM phone comes with a 4.5-inch qHD display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM and 4GB of ROM (expandable via a microSD card slot). The device has a 5MP rear-facing camera. The phone will be priced NTD 10,900, which should be about Rs.22,888 in Indian Rupees.

HTC Desire 300

The Desire 300 will be the cheapest HTC Desire phone available in the market. It features a 4.3-inch display having a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. The phone is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor coupled with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. The handset incorporates a 5MP rear-facing camera.

Originally, HTC unleashed the Desire 300 and Desire 601 at this year's IFA Berlin tech show. Now HTC has confirmed the availability of both devices alongside newly launched Desire handsets, at an event held in Taiwan.
