HTC M7 to Debut at CES 2013: 1080p Display Superphone Coming to Challenge Galaxy S4 and Xperia Odin

Since December 2012, rumors are rife regarding the upcoming flaghsip device of Taiwanese handset vendor HTC - M7, which is speculated to boast a 1080p display on a 4.7-inch screen with 468 ppi pixel density, technically 40% higher than the resoultion density of the existing smartphones in the market. Currently,he latest rumor has originated from XDA Developers forum's Football member, who has a trustworthy record of posting accurate information of upcoming HTC devices.

According to the information disclosed in the report, HTC is reportedly planning to release M7 at the Consumer Electronics Show 2013 slated to take place from January 8 to January 11 in Las Vegas.

Going by earlier reports, M7 (supposedly the successor of One X) could boast a 4.7 inch 1080p SLCD 3 display, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5.0, 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad core processor with a new GPU, 13MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera for video calling, 32GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, LTE, HSPA+, Beats Audio integration and a 2,300 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy S4 and Sony Xperia Odin Rival Alert

In a market which is dominated by major smartphone manufacturers including Apple and Samsung, it may not be the first choice for the buyers to go for an HTC smartphone.

Moreover, with several companies planning to launch 1080p full HD display incorporated devices including LG, Sony, Samsung, Huawei and more, it becomes evident that HTC will have to plan effectively to unleash M7 at the right time into the market in order to secure some impressive sales figure.

As per the recent report, HTC will launch M7 into the market in the next week, which is well ahead prior to the launch of Galaxy S4 and in sync with that of Xperia Odin - two handsets that are speculated to flaunt 5 inch 1080p displays.

Moreover, considering the usual strategy of HTC, the company is well know for showcasing the handsets, especially flagship devices at the Mobile World Congress in February and releasing them in April.

With the little information that is being rumored about M7, it can be said that the handset could offer a head-to-head challenge to rumored Samsung Galaxy S4 and Sony Xperia Odin.

Speaking of rumored specifications, Samsung Galaxy S4, is speculated to boast a 5 inch AMOLED HD display along with 1920 x 1080 pixel of resolution accompanied with remarkable 441 ppi pixel density, 2GHz quad core Cortex A15 processor, 13MP rear camera, Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie and 16GB/32GB/64GB/128GB internal storage options.

On the other hand, Xperia Odin will come with a 5 inch 1080p HD display with 440 ppi pixel density, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, quad core 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 13MP rear shooter, 2GB RAM and 32GB on-board storage.

HTC has been facing a tough time in the smartphone arena with difficulty in selling their high-end smartphones that are equipped with most of the top end features as the competitors. However, as the company has appointed a brand new CMO - Benjamin Ho in late November, who will take charge from January 2013, there could be some changes the trend, thereby letting the company come with flying colors in the new year.
