HTC One (M8) Prime Smartphone Tipped To Feature 2K Display, 18MP Duo Camera
Taiwan-based HTC has had a rough patch with the subsequent failure of its flagship handsets. Both the HTC One (M7) and the One Max had struggled hard to find a reasonable number of buyers which lead to internal disputes within the company.
Despite being a struggling handset manufacturer, HTC hasn't ended its operations, and with passing time the company is combating the competition with new innovative products. HTC One (M8), for instance, is being marketed as a "flagship killer". The phone has been pitted against the Samsung Galaxy S5.
The HTC One (M8) Prime has been in the rumor mill since last month. The mysterious handset is said to come with a 2K display, and may boast a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. Even though the real specs of the supposed handset have largely been buried deep; many have started to believe that the One M8 Prime could give tough competition to Samsung's announced S5 Prime and LG's G3- both handsets are destined to arrive later this month.

Apparently, a new report straight out of China reveals that the device in question will feature a 5.5-inch Quad HD display ( 2560 x 1440 pixels ), a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, an 18-megapixel rear-facing camera with depth sensor, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB of ROM, and USB 3.0, to name a few.
As always, it's best to take reports of unannounced devices with a huge grain of salt. It certainly seems plausible that the leaked specs of the HTC One (M8) Prime. The monster device is tipped to go official in September. Incidentally, Apple is also gearing up to launch the iPhone 6 in the month of September. The rumored iPhone 6 may arrive in two screen sizes: one with a 4.7-inch and the other with a 5.5-inch.
Is HTC trying to compete with the iPhone 6 with its forthcoming One M8 Prime? Only time will tell.
