There has been a large number of smartphone launches in 2011 in all markets. Things haven’t been different in the US market as well. Carriers such as Verizon and Sprint have been announcing new phones in their arsenal. Taiwanese handset manufacturer HTC has been competitive enough to challenge the high-tech smartphones from Motorola, Samsung, Apple, etc. And now as the market undergoes a gradual transition from 3G to 4G speeds, smartphones with 4G capability will surely peak in demand.
HTC Rezound is one of the latest high-end smartphone launches, the others being the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Motorola Droid Razr and Apple iPhone 4S. The Beats Audio connection makes HTC Rezound quite an attractive proposition, particularly for those who are on the lookout for high quality audio. It will be offered by the Verizon carrier in USA from November 14, 2011 with a price amounting to around Rs. 14,744 on contract. We have to wait to know the exact price of HTC Rezound in India and also the release date in India.
HTC Rezound is a smartphone with attractive specs. This phone with 4G LTE connectivity has a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with spectacular audio thanks to Beats Audio support.
To make things even better, Rezound is offered along with Beats-reminiscent ear buds with red cables. This is the first smartphone in the US which features collaboration between HTC and Dr. Dre’s Beats Audio.
HTC has already launched Sensation XL, a smartphone with Beats Audio in Asia and Europe. You can capture shots with great clarity with the 8-megapixel camera located at the rear, and also record 1080p videos. This is in addition to the 2-megapixel front facing camera.
HTC Rezound has entertainment written all over it and that hasn’t to do only with the Beats audio and the red earphones. As mentioned earlier, this is powered by a 1.5GHz processor ensuring high speeds and making it fit to accommodate the pre-loaded Google Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system although it is capable to be loaded with Ice Cream Sandwich OS too.
Rezound has a Qualcomm MSM8660 system chip and Qualcomm Adreno 220 graphics processor. The 720p, 4.3-inch display on its capacitive multi-touch screen is expected to provide great clarity and facilitates high resolution image viewing. It has internal storage of 16GB with additional 16GB added through microSD card, and 1GB RAM – all attractive specs indeed. Rezound offers Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi connectivity options too. HTC has equipped Rezound with a 1,620mAh battery.
The 8-megapixel camera featuring f/2.2 sensor onboard the Rezound has great scene mode options such as panorama, instant capture, action burst and slow-mo. The handset body is attractive too with the distinctive Beats red-on-black color scheme.
So does HTC have a killer product with Rezound? Only a full test could prove.
