Reports in the recent past claimed that HTC and Verizon were working to bring the long awaited Ice Cream Sandwich update for the HTC Rezound handset. And, here it comes. Well, its official now! HTC Rezound is the latest device from Verizon campus to get ICS flavour and the owners can finally add Rezound to the list of the handsets running Ice Cream Sandwich OS. 

According to reports, the update was supposed to roll out on last month. However, after many leaks, the update is now finally out and is being rolled out to everyone. 

The Big Red network has also published new official documents detailing the Android 4.0.3 update rollout for the device. 

The device will be getting bumped up with new software version 3.14.605.12 and the Android OS version will be replaced as v4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich build. Do not expect to get HTC Sense 4.0 UI goodies, because the update is carrying Sense 3.6 UI. Recently, a couple of HTC devices has received the Android 4.0.x Ice Cream Sandwich update including the HTC EVO 3D and HTC EVO Design 4G. 

Among the new features to look out for are Sense UI 3.6 UI, Face Unlock, resizeable widgets, home screen folders and more. Here's the full list of the software update v3.14.605.12 aka Android 4.0.3 ICS for HTC Rezound:

The users may see the Android 4.0.3 update notification (as seen in the above picture) on their HTC Rezound handset. The update weighs in at 299MB. 

At the same time, the owners of the handset can also opt for getting the update manually now by heading into Settings > System Updates > HTC software update > Check now.
